SpaceX stacks Starship for test flight, multiple missions scheduled through October

New launch updates landed this week alongside confirmation of ESA Juice's upcoming Earth gravity assist pass.

SpaceX has stacked the Starship rocket at its Starbase, Texas launch site ahead of a targeted liftoff on 28 September 2025.[2] Three SpaceX launches are scheduled over the coming period. The USSF-385 classified mission for the U.S. Space Force will lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 7 a.m. PDT this Saturday. Google's Project Suncatcher experimental MVP satellite will also launch from Vandenberg aboard a Falcon 9 on 1 October 2026.[1] [3] [8] On 28 September 2026, the European Space Agency's Juice spacecraft will fly past Earth. It will come within 8,640 km of the planet to adjust speed and course on its journey to Jupiter.[4] A successful Starship test flight is required for NASA's 2027 Artemis 3 lunar astronaut mission.[7] SpaceX plans to wind down commercial Falcon 9 launch operations within the next two to three years. NASA also confirmed this week that Russian cosmonaut Artem Kiviryan will fly on the Crew-14 ISS mission, scheduled no earlier than 2027.[5] [6]
