Four astronauts returned safely to Earth on 8 October 2026 after eight months aboard the International Space Station.[2] The Crew-12 mission splashed down on schedule in the Pacific Ocean off California at 11:34 local time. The crew had been deployed in February on an emergency mission to replace an ISS crew member who fell ill. This marked NASA's first medical evacuation in 65 years of human spaceflight.[3] French astronaut Sophie Adenot was among the returning crew. During the mission she completed three spacewalks totalling 19 hours 42 minutes.[4] NASA announced that the next Cargo Dragon spacecraft will launch to the station no earlier than 13 October.[1]
