IAC Telescope Detects Asteroid 2026 PC6 Passing Close to Earth

The asteroid, roughly the size of a bus, flew 14,573 kilometers above the surface on August 12, 2026, without posing an impact risk.

The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) detected asteroid 2026 PC6 passing very close to Earth on the early morning of August 12, 2026, using its ATLAS-Teide telescope system at the Teide Observatory.[3]
