SpaceX Starship successfully reached Earth orbit on its 14th test flight, an outcome no previous launch of the vehicle had achieved.[2] The launch departed Starbase, Texas. Over the same 48 hour period, SpaceX conducted two additional launches from Florida. On October 1, the company launched the NASA Crew-13 mission aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral.[1] That flight set a new United States record for crew transit speed, reaching the International Space Station in eight hours.[4] Also on October 1, a Falcon Heavy rocket lifted off from Kennedy Space Center shortly before midnight.[5] The four station crew members due to depart will return once Crew-13 arrives on orbit.[3]
